<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Australian companies have proven they&amp;rsquo;re no flash in the pan, with seven local firms awarded top honours at the POPAI Global Marketing at Retail Awards on Wednesday night at GlobalShop in Las Vegas. It&amp;rsquo;s the second year in a row that Australian companies have been so highly awarded.&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
 &lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5P Group took out the award for Nestle&amp;rsquo;s Pro Plan New Generation unit, and Active Display Group&amp;rsquo;s Disney Cars 2 Light-box won gold for the Walt Disney Company. &lt;br /&gt;Creative Instore Solutions received a gong for their BIC Lighter Display whilst icandy Creative emerged victorious with their Optus Powerwall and Broadband category management entry. &lt;br /&gt;Megara Australia impressed with their Nit Wits Display unit for Sue Ismiel &amp;amp; Daughters and The Artel Group received scored top honours for their Nescafe Gold floorstand. &lt;br /&gt;VISY Glama rounded out the Australian winners with its Adidas Footwear Floorstand in the Toy and Sport Retailer category. &lt;/p&gt;
 &lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;General Manager of POPAI Australia and New Zealand, Karen Spear, said it was validating for Australia to be so well represented two years in a row. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;ldquo;Last year set a precedent for Australian marketing at retail being noticed on the world stage. To achieve these kinds of global accolades two years in a row is testament to the quality of the work that&amp;rsquo;s coming out of our industry right now,&amp;rdquo; she said. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;ldquo;For companies from our region to take out seven of the 20 awards categories this year indicates that we can start to think of Australia as industry-leading &amp;ndash; there is work being done here that is setting benchmarks beyond our shores.&amp;rdquo; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To qualify for entry into the 2012 Global Marketing at Retail Awards Contest entrants were required to have won Display of the Year or Gold awards from the 2011 Awards Contest run by POPAI Chapters in Australia &amp;amp; New Zealand, France, DACH, Hungary, Italy, North America, South Africa and the United Kingdom &amp;amp; Ireland. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 2012 POPAI Global Marketing at Retail Awards contest provides a global platform to showcase the design and manufacturing talents of both producers and suppliers across the world and recognises excellence within the industry.
